The provisions for contact tracing in New South Wales are inĀ reg 60 of the Public Health Regulations 2022 (NSW).
It should be noted that reg 60 applies to category 2 and 3 conditions in New South Wales, which includes, but is not limited to, HIV. This provision requires the secretary or attending medical practitioner who believes a person may have been in contact with another person with HIV to notify the first person of measures to be taken, and activities to be avoided, in order to minimise the danger of the first person acquiring HIV or passing it to a third person.
